Are you looking for a gift with a difference for your loved ones this Christmas?
Adopt a beautiful Bewick's swan and we'll send them an adoption pack full of goodies and a ticket to come and see the swans - which have just migrated from Russia - at some of our WWT centres.
Each year the swans fly thousands of miles from their breeding grounds in the Russian Arctic to spend the winter in the UK. Their incredible migration journey will also be featured on the BBC's Autumnwatch programme which is being filmed at our WWT Slimbridge centre each Friday in November.
WWT is famed for its work with Bewick's swans, which began in 1964 when WWT's founder Sir Peter Scott discovered individual swans could be identified and monitored using their unique bill patterns. The study he began continues today and is the longest running research of its kind.
By adopting a swan you will help to ensure the continuation of this study. You'll also be helping us to identify and address threats to these birds – such as illegal hunting, habitat destruction and power line collision – which will increase the likelihood they will continue to make their remarkable journey for many more years to come.
